lolz i had a great lecture today... lecturer was kinda intimidating (more cos of his force of personality than any fierceness actually), but extremely invigorating. reallyyyy cynical tho. dry satirical humor that is so cunningly witty.
precision in language! connections! why is it effective! :) all the things that i learnt. so happy i attended this one lecture. but yea what he said made me realize that poetry is as much a craft, as it is an expression. i think along the way, i got lost in the misconception that art can only be a discovery. bang, it hits you on the head, and wee the light of inspiration shines and words flow like grease. but no. art can also be painstakingly refined invention; words intentionally and consciously chosen to bring out the effectiveness of language as a tool in the manipulation of thoughts and emotions. lolz wonderful just how relevant linguistic relativism is to literature. but i guess it's natural.
suddenly seemed so wise to have kept all my incomplete written projects - blog posts, poems, short story (lolz this is singular term). can go back to it again and continually refine them. cos once it's published it can't be editted...
